Amar’e Stoudemire will return to the Knicks Monday, head coach Mike D’Antoni announced Wednesday.
Stoudemire remains in Florida grieving the loss of his older brother, Hazell, who was killed this past Monday in a car crash.
Stoudemire will miss Friday’s home game against the Lakers and Saturday’s game in Minnesota, but would be available for Tuesday’s tilt at Toronto.
Carmelo Anthony remains out 1-2 weeks with a right groin strain.
He had been bothered by ankle, thumb and wrist injures as well.
Anthony was chosen as a starter for the Feb. 26 All-Star Game in Orlando, but it remains possible he would sit out the game because of the injuries.
