The Knicks on Tuesday claimed former Harvard point guard Jeremy Lin off waivers.

The Houston Rockets released the 6-foot-3 Lin Sunday to make room for former Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick star Samuel Dalembert.

“He can really get in the lane and distribute the basketball,” Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni told reporters of Lin on Tuesday. “We haven’t seen him for a couple of years, but when we worked him out, we liked him. We’ll see.”

The Knicks needed a backup point guard after rookie Iman Shumpert went down Christmas Day with an MCL sprain. He is out 2-4 weeks.

Mike Rosario’s return to the RAC Thursday may not turn out the way he had hoped.

“He’s still questionable,” a family source told SNY.tv Tuesday, referring to Rosario’s back issues. “He wants to play, but I don’t think he’s going to play.”

The 6-foot-3 Rosario, averaging 9.4 points off the bench, has not played since a Dec. 17 win over Texas A&M because of what the Orlando Sentinel termed a “strained back.” The source said Rosario may have a herniated disc in his back.

Marco Bourgault is a 6-foot-6, 215-pound wing originally from France and Orlando Sanchez is a 6-9 forward (pictured) from The Dominican Republic.

“Marco is a great shooter; they really like him,” Joe Boncore, who trains Bourgault and helped bring him over from France, told SNY.tv. “He’s been going to Maryland in the summer [to train] the last three years.”

Add Van Halen to the list of bands who will tour next year to celebrate an anniversary.

David Lee Roth will join guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and  bassist Wolfgang Van Halento celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary.

I saw these guys from the front rows of Madison Square Garden in 2007, when they last toured, and they sounded great.

That was their first appearance with Diamond Dave since the ill-fated (and very short) 1996 reunion.

Since the now infamous Cincinnati-Xavier brawl of Dec. 10, the two programs have been headed in opposite directions.

Despite playing without Yancy GatesOctavius Ellis and Cheikh Mbodj, the Bearcats are a perfect 4-0 since the brawl and are averaging nearly 94 points per game. In two of those wins, they topped the century mark.

Cincinnati is actually playing better without the 6-foot-9 Gates and the 6-10 Mbodj.
