Following his suspension two weeks ago, Sidiki Johnson will transfer from Arizona.
The 6-foot-8, 235-pound Bronx native was averaging 0.3 points and 0.7 rebounds in three games this season.
Johnson remained in New York after Arizona lost to Mississippi State in the 2K Sports Classic championship Nov. 18. Arizona coach Sean Miller said then it was the coaches’ decision to let him stay home because he violated team rules.
“Sidiki Johnson is someone from a physical perspective — rebounding, giving us quality minutes, developing as our season grows — who we were really counting on to complement the big guys that we already have,” Miller said last weekend. “Him not being with us is not a positive.”
Johnson originally chose Arizona over Providence, Virginia Tech, St. John’s and others.

Did you even watch the game? NAU ran out the clock every time they had the ball. They had at least 5 or 6 shot clock violations and took at least 10 shots with less than 3 seconds left on the shot clock. Basically, Arizona scored 53 points in a half. It was actually pretty impressive given the tempo of the game. At one point Arizona made five 3-point shots in a row.
Sidiki leaving had absolutely nothing to do with style of play or coaching. It was all about Sidiki’s immaturity. He didn’t leave by choice – he was basically kicked off the team for insubordination. It’s really Sidiki’s loss, not Arizona’s.

i’m even more impressed by the lengths zona fans go to spin. how do you shoot 42% against northern arizona? i guess that is the result of a slow tempo too. oh…but zona ranks 211th in FG% and really 42% is actually their average.
so really it has nothing to do with tempo….zona just isnt good.

Nice try but I’m not an Arizona fan. Although, I must admit that I love what Sean Miller is doing down there in Tucson though. I’ve actually never been to Tucson and I’ll likely never go there.
I’m just a college basketball fan. I watched the entire UNC/UK game, I watched the entire UCLA/Texas game as well as bits and pieces of about 5-10 other games this past weekend. You obviously don’t watch enough basketball to know what’s really going on. I saw enough of the Arizona game to know what happened. And no, Arizona really isn’t all that good this year but that has nothing at all to do with Sidiki Johnson’s situation.
