Gary Harris Closing In On Decision

Gary Harris, the No. 3 shooting guard in the Class of 2012, is among the top prospects getting closer to a college decision.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Harris visited Michigan State this weekend and is now done with his visits.

“Visit was good,” Harris told SNY.tv by text. “We are still sorting things out as a family.”

The early signing period begins Wednesday.

He is also considering Indiana, Kentucky and Purdue.

Along with his skills as a basketball player, Harris also stars as a wide receiver at Hamilton (Ind.) Southeastern and reportedly received offers from Notre Dame, Iowa and Indiana for football.

“I don’t think there’s any doubt that he’s a football player,” his father, Gary Harris Sr., told the Indianapolis Star. “He’s not a basketball player just playing football. He fits on the football field. When it came down to making that decision of football or basketball, it was a long discussion.”
