NEW YORK — Regardless of where West Virginia winds up down the road, Kevin Jones and Darryl “Truck” Bryant will finish out their careers in the Big East.

But Jones says if West Virginia does indeed leave the Big East for the Big 12, it won’t be the same for the Mounties or their fans.

“It’s not going to really affect me or Truck, but I just feel sorry for my teammates and the players that it will affect in the future,” Jones, a Mount Vernon, N.Y., native and preseason first-team All-Big East selection, told SNY.tv at Big East media day.

“Of course I will be coming and watching games and watching games on TV, but it just won’t have that same feel if it wasn’t the same Big East that I played in.”

T.J. Warren, the No. 6 small forward in the Class of 2012, will announce his college choice on Wednesday, according to Scout.com.

“Decision to come,” Warren tweeted.

A Raleigh, N.C., native playing at Brewster (N.H.) Academy, Warren will choose between Georgetown and N.C. State.

“I would assume, and I really don’t know for sure, that T.J. would like to go to one of those schools that are close to his home in N.C.,” Brewster teammate Mitch McGary wrote in his blog entry on ESPN.com. “That’s just my guess.”

Rick Pitino has a lot in common with many college basketball fans right now in that he’s not sure which is the next team headed to the Big 12.

“I don’t believe they’re going to 12 [teams], I believe they’re going to 10,” Pitino told SNY.tv by phone. “And I’m not sure until it’s announced who it is.”

West Virginia was reportedly headed to the Big 12 as its 10th team on Tuesday, but on Wednesday multiple reports indicated the process was put on hold.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — Jordan Theodore is hoping Kemba Walker’s success rubs off.

The two were teammates on a highly successful New York Gauchos AAU program and remain close friends.

Walker, of course, led UConn to Big East and NCAA Tournament championships last year before getting drafted by the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats.

Entering his senior season at Seton Hall, Theodore hopes he can approximate Walker’s success.

“It was motivation because I grew up playing with him and knowing that we grew up together,” Theodore told SNY.tv Wednesday at Seton Hall’s media day. “We played on the same team and I can do it, too.
