Dallas Anglin to Hofstra

Hofstra coach Mo Cassara is reeling in a strong recruiting class for 2012.

Dallas Anglin, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound combo guard from Seton Hall Prep, is the latest to join the Pride, committing Sunday.

“They show a lot of love and they are a family!,”Anglin said by text. “I’m going there to win and I’m bringing athleticism.

“I learned how to lead a team and become a point guard so I’ll be there to do what I do.”

Anglin also had offers from Siena, Duquesne, Penn State, St. Peter’s, St. Joe’s, Richmond, Towson, Manhattan, Rice and Western Kentucky.

“Hofstra is a nice fit for Dallas,” Seton Hall Prep coach Kevin Williams said. “I’m happy for him, Dallas is a great kid.

“Dallas is an explosive athlete who also shoots the ball very well. His ability to get to the basket makes him very difficult to guard.”

Anglin joins 6-7 St. Anthony power forward Jimmy Hall in Hofstra’s 2012 recruiting haul.

Hofstra also has transfers Taran Buie and Jamal Coombs-McDaniel sitting out. Both become eligible in 2012.
