Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard will have the last shot at Kyle Anderson.

Willard will have an in-home visit with the 6-foot-8 St. Anthony point guard Monday night, with his announcement looming Tuesday, his 18th birthday.

Anderson leaves Friday for an official visit to Florida, where he is expected to be hosted by former St. Anthony McDonald’s All-American Mike Rosario. Rosario and Anderson both helped lead the Friars to undefeated seasons and mythical national championships, Rosario in 2008 and Anderson in 2011.

The three St. John’s freshman who were declared ineligible Thursday remain in limbo with no immediate plans at the moment.

Amir Garrett, JaKarr Sampson and Norvel Pelle have not yet enrolled at St. John’s and thus have options, including prep school and including the potential of landing at other schools.

Still, St. John’s and the three players remain hopeful that they will be able to begin playing in December.

“I’ll be there January believe that!!,” Tweeted the 6-foot-7 Garrett, a small forward who was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and signed a $1 million bonus that does not prevent him from playing college basketball.

Three members of Steve Lavin‘s highly ranked 2011 recruiting class were declared academically ineligible Thursday.

Amir Garrett, a 6-7 small forward, JaKarr Sampson, a 6-8 forward, and Norvel Pelle, a 6-10 center, are not eligible to suit up in the first semester.

They account for one-third of St. John’s incoming nine-man recruiting class.

Jamal White, a Junior guard and LIU transfer, was added to scholarship, bringing the Red Storm to eight total players on scholarship for the first semester, which includes a Dec. 1 game at Kentucky.

“We will continue to work with the NCAA in an effort to review Amir, Norvel and JaKarr’s cases regarding their eligibility,” said head coach Steve Lavin. “Our student-athletes and their families have been patient and cooperative throughout this review process. We are hopeful that Amir, Norvel and JaKarr will be able to join us on the court this winter, and in the classroom when the 2012 spring semester begins.”

PATERSON, N.J. — Seton Hall fans are making it awfully difficult for Kyle Anderson to say no.

More than 120 Pirate fans turned up at Paterson Kennedy High School Wednesday night to watch Anderson as he put up 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in a 66-51 victory over Hudson Catholic in a Fall Ball league game.

“It definitely shows me they care,” Anderson told Orlando Cameron of NJHoops-Journal.com. “I’m very thankful for that.”

This is the second week in a row that Seton Hall fans have flocked to watch the 6-8 St. Anthony point guard. This time, Seton Hall players Jordan Theodore, Herb Pope, and Fuquan Edwin, as well as Pirates’ legend Terry Dehere, were in attendance.

NEWARK, N.J. — Virginia coach Tony Bennett knows that to compete with the Carolinas and the Dukes of the world, he needs as much height and as much talent as he can muster.

So Bennett is looking forward to the return of 6-foot-8 senior forward Mike Scott, who missed 21 games during the 2010-11 season with an ankle injury and received a medical hardship waiver.

“He was a key player for us, so him coming back, getting his fifth year hopefully will help us,” Bennett told SNY.tv Tuesday during an open gym at St. Benedict’s Prep.
