McGary Has No Plans to Commit Soon

Mitch McGary says on his ESPN.com blog that he has no plans to commit anytime soon after taking a trio of official visits to Michigan, North Carolina and Duke.

“I definitely don’t see myself committing any time soon,” McGary said. “I just want to make sure that I’m making the right decision so the plan is to take my time.”

The 6-foot-10 Brewster (N.H.) Academy forward said he hosted Billy Donovan of Florida Monday and that coaches from Carolina will be in today (Wednesday) and Duke coaches come Thursday.

Seems like Donovan is good at showing tape of how potential targets might fit in. Kyle Anderson’s father said the Florida coach showed them tape of players similar to Anderson whom Donovan coached, and McGary said the same thing.

“They showed me some tape of some former guys who played my position so I liked that,” he said.

McGary can take a total of six official visits because he’s a postgrad, according to Brewster coach Jason Smith.

With three down, he could still take three more.

“I still want to go to Kentucky, Maryland and Florida, but I’m not sure that I’ll get to those schools just yet,” McGary wrote. “I’d like to get there, but we’ll just have to see.”
