    Kyrie Irving has filed a harassment complaint with the West Orange (N.J.) police saying he was being threatened by a woman he met through Twitter, according to multiple reports.

    The woman is identified as Jessica Jackson, a Bronx, N.Y., native also known as ‘Miss Hawaii.’

    According to MontclairPatch.com,  Irving, the No. 1 pick in last month’s NBA Draft, said in the police report he received “terroristic threats” from Jackson between March 22 and May 17. He filed a harassment complaint May 17.

    With the July recruiting period set to tip off this week, DaJuan Coleman’s AAU coach expects Kentucky and Syracuse to face-off for the 6-foot-9, 280-pound big man.

    “I know Syracuse and Kentucky are all out,” Albany City Rocks coach Jim Hart told SNY.tv Sunday by phone. “I think they sense that they have some leadership and  they’re not going to relinquish that hold.”

    Coleman will attend the LeBron James Skills Academy in Akron, Ohio beginning this week and will be at the Nike Peach Jam the following week. Later in July Coleman will attend the Super Showcase in Las Vegas and the AAU Nationals in Orlando.

    AVALON, N.J. — When it comes to the July recruiting period, the Wild West days of Sonny Vaccaro vs. George Raveling are gone.

    Long gone.

    “You can never say never,” said Gary Charles, the head coach of the New York Panthers and a Vaccaro lieutenant from 1992-2006, when Vaccaro hung up his kicks and retired .

    “But I think it’s extremely hard to duplicate what Sonny Vaccaro has done.”

    Within the span of 48 hours this week, Marist accepted and then rescinded a scholarship offer to Cody Joyce, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward from Southern High School in Maryland.

    “He’s just overwhelmed and not wanting to talk to anyone,” Brenda Medhurst, Joyce’s mother, told SNY.tv Saturday by phone.

    “He went from the happiest moment to this. It’s pretty crushing to a kid.”

    Medhurst said Marist athletic director Tim Murray called her Thursday to inform her that the scholarship her son had accepted on Tuesday was being revoked.

    The USA beat Serbia, 80-78, Friday in pool play of the FIBA U19 Championships in Latvia.

    Joe Jackson of Memphis led the U.S. with 19 points, Patric Young of Florida had 13 points and Tim Hardaway of Michigan and Tony Mitchell of North Texas scored 11 apiece.

    Hardaway scored off a drive to give the U.S. a 80-78 lead with 47.1 seconds left.

    “It was a team effort,” USA head coach Paul Hewitt said by phone from Latvia.
