Chris McCullough to Visit St. John’s, Iowa State

Chris McCullough is only a rising sophomore, but his stock is soaring.

His Team Scan improved to 5-0 at the Fab 48 with its latest win Sunday night, and the 6-foot-9 face-up four-man is a big reason why

“He’s been playing phenomenal,” his AAU coach, Terrance “Munch Williams, said by phone from Vegas, adding that McCullough is averaging about 18 points and 10 boards a game. “He’s playing both ends of the floor.”

McCullough, a New York native who attends the Salisbury (Conn.) School, holds offers from St. John’s, Syracuse, Temple, Iowa State and Providence, and has interest from Georgetown, Miami, West Virginia, Rutgers and Hofstra, Williams said.

“He’s going to visit Iowa State in September,” he said. “[And] he’ll definitely visit St. John’s.”

Coaches have been raving about McCullough this summer, and Williams is no exception.

“I think honestly if he stays level-headed and works hard and stays disciplined in the classroom and does it the right way, he can actually make it to the league,” Willams said.

“He’s definitely a high Division 1 player,” he added. “He’s a humble kid and hard working.”
