Archie Goodwin Planning Visits

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.Archie Goodwin is here at the Peach Jam playing with a dislocated wrist in his non-shooting hand he suffered last month.

But that didn’t stop him from going off for 30 points and six rebounds in a 76-68 victory over Team Takeover — including a monster, breakaway one-handed dunk in front of Kentucky coach John Calipari, Texas coach Rick Barnes and Memphis coach Josh Pastner.

“That felt good,” he said of the flush. “I’m not a show-boaty type guy but if I do get a little flashy move I’m gonna let you know I did it. So it’s just a good feeling right there to do that.”

As far as recruiting, the 6-foot-5, 185-pound Arkansas Wings shooting guard listed Kentucky, Arkansas, UConn, Baylor and Memphis as “schools that have been there from the start.”

“My list is still pretty long but I plan to narrow it down soon,” he said.

Goodwin says he plans to “take all five” official visits but did say three schools are likely to receive visits.

“If I was to say for sure officials it would probably be Arkansas, UConn and Kentucky so far,” he added. “That’s would probably be the three that I’m sure about.”

Goodwin also said he may wait until the spring of 2012 to make his announcement.

“I think I’ll definitely wait because I want to make sure it’s the right decision for me,” he said.
