Jason Boswell Leaves St. Pat’s

Jason Boswell, a 2013 small forward from Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick, will transfer to Trinity (Conn.) Catholic.

“I have agreed to attend Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, Conn.,” Boswell said by text.

“Trinity Catholic has a strong academic program which offers great basketball opportunities,” a source close to Boswell added. “His commute will be significantly reduced to approximately 30 minutes as opposed to the 2 hours traveled each day to Elizabeth.  He is looking forward to contributing to the continued success of Trinity  Catholic under the direction of an iconic coach, Mike Walsh.”

Former St. Patrick coach Kevin Boyle left the school after last season for Montverde (Fla.) Academy and was replaced by Chris Chevannes.

The 6-foot-6 Boswell, a Bronx, N.Y., native, did not play much during St. Pat’s run to the No. 1 national ranking last season, but holds offers from Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State and Hosftra.

At Trinity Catholic, he will join 7-1 African big man Pascal Chukwu, profiled here.
