Trevor Lacey will announce his college choice May 18, his father told Rivals.com.
The 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Huntsville (Ala.) Butler High finished up his official visit to Kansas Monday.
He is down to Kansas, Kentucky, Alabama and Auburn and will reportedly announce at 2 p.m. on May 18 at his high school. Lacey had also considered a visit to UConn and or N.C. State, per KUSports.com.
The No. 24 ranked player in the Class of 2011 and the No. 6 shooting guard, Lacey averaged 31.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.6 assists a game this past season.
TRAYLOR LIKELY TO VISIT TEXAS TECH
Jamari Traylor, a 6-8 forward from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academies, will likely visit Texas Tech.
“It is very, very likely that he will visit Texas Tech,” IMG coach Andy Borman said Tuesday. “They’re going to finalize the details tonight.”
Traylor is considering Kansas, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. He has visited the first two schools.
DeAndre Daniels, a 6-8 wing from IMG, is down to Duke, Kansas and Texas, but has yet to announce.
STOKES TO HAWAII
“Hawaii felt like a home away from home from the coaching staff to players,” Stokes told Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop.
Stokes averaged 18.4 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game this past season. He led Lincoln to a 29-3 record, a runner-up finish in the PSAL championship and a No. 21 national ranking by USA Today.
Stokes helped Lincoln to three-straight league titles.
“Shaquille gives our team a great added dimension,” head coach Gib Arnold said. “New York point guards have a reputation for being tough, defensive-minded players who can create off the dribble. Shaquille fits that mold perfectly. He played for a winning program under a legendary coach [Tiny Morton] that has consistently produced NBA players at the point guard position, most recently Stephon Marbury, Sebastian Telfair and Lance Stephenson.”
As a senior Stokes was named to the all-city first team by the New York Daily News and was of one of six finalists for Player of the Year honors.
Joining Stokes in Hawaii’s six-man recruiting class is Newark native DeShawn Mitchell, a JUCO guard from Snow College (Utah).
