Notre Dame senior Ben Hansbrough is the only unanimous selection to the All-Big East First Team.
The conference’s head coaches choose the all-conference teams. The coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players.
DePaul forward Cleveland Melvin was the lone unanimous pick on the Big East All-Rookie Team.
The conference will announce Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Tuesday.
After going 15-3 in conference play and winning the outright Big East regular-season title, Pittsburgh has earned the No. 1 seed for The 2011 Big East tournament.
Pittsburgh wrapped up its sixth Big East regular-season title Saturday with a 60-50 win against Villanova, giving the Panthers a one-game edge on second-place Notre Dame in the final standings. The Panthers will enter The Big East tournament as the No. 1 overall seed for the third time and look to win their third Big East tournament title.
Pittsburgh joins Notre Dame, Louisville and Syracuse as the top four seeds in The Big East tournament, which begins Tuesday at noon at Madison Square Garden. Those four schools receive byes through two rounds of the tournament and won’t play until Thursday’s quarterfinals.

A few months ago, Braeden Anderson’s fate was sealed. The 6-foot-8 forward out of Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts had signed a national letter of intent in the fall to play for Oliver Purnell and the DePaul Blue Demons.
After former Miami (FL) forward Donnavan Kirk announced that he would be transferring to DePaul next season, the forward position became crowded in Chicago and playing time would be limited. Anderson, a native of Calgary, Canada, talked to Purnell and decided it would be best if he found a new school. He decommitted on January 17th.

NEW YORK — Carmelo Anthony couldn’t quite pronounce the name of the NBA rookie who drew the critical, game-turning charge on him Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
“I don’t even know his name,” Anthony said after the Cleveland Cavaliers outscored the Knicks 27-11 down the stretch to win, 119-115, for their third win this season over New York.
Told that the rookie’s name was Samardo, as in Samardo Samuels, Anthony said, “I just pushed him. He flopped a little bit. It is what it is.”
