Bob Cimmino hasn’t gotten much sleep this week.
But he’ll remember it for the rest of his life.
Within a four-day span, the Mount Vernon High School coach won his fourth New York State Federation title and will coach in the McDonald’s All-American Game.
Here’s a look at his busy schedule in the past few days:
SUNDAY
2 p.m. — Mount Vernon tips off against Christ the King in New York State Federation AA final at the Albany Times Union Center
4 p.m. — Mount Vernon wins game, 84-78 in overtime, behind 31 points from West Virginia-bound guard Jabarie Hinds; coaches talk in locker room
6 p.m. — Team stops for Roy Rogers/Arthur Treacher’s dinner
9 p.m. — Bus arrives at Mount Vernon High School; Cimmino goes out for a couple beers with coaching staff
11:30 p.m. — Bed
MONDAY
3:30 a.m. — Cimmino wakes up
5:30 — Arrives at Westchester Airport in White Plains, N.Y. after former player drives Cimmino and assistant Brian Pritchett
7 — Flight departs for Chicago
9:30 — Lands in Chicago; gets driven straight to McDonald’s practice to coach the East team. First face Cimmino sees is Larry Bird. Here’s the team Cimmino is coaching:

Cimmino’s initial thoughts on his team: “They were very receptive group, very large young men, very talented…[I noticed] how big Plumlee is, he’s very big. Chane [Behanan], how strong he is. And Quinn Cook is better than I thought he was. I saw him play with Oak Hill in Hawaii but he’s very coachable and listens well.”
Noon – Lunch at McDonald’s
