West Virginia became the latest school to get serious about Notre Dame Prep guard Todd Mayo when it offered a scholarship Thursday.
“West Virginia just offered tonight,” the 6-foot-4 Mayo said by text. “They need a scoring guard and they want me and the offer is on the table. They want to get it done.”
Mayo, the half-brother of NBA guard O.J. Mayo, recently visited Marquette and will trip to Central Florida Sunday-Tuesday.
He also plans to visit Memphis before deciding sometime before April 1.
Baylor and Oklahoma State are also involved.
“I’m going to wait until after the UCF visit” to commit,” Mayo said.
