Lekan Ajayi Mulling Four Schools

Lekan Ajayi, a 6-foot-11 center from Quality Education (N.C.), says he’s mulling four schools and is approaching a decision.

Having just completed back-to-back officials to Seton Hall and Tennessee, Ajayi plans to visit Loyola Marymount and Miami before making his decision.

“I just want to do those four and then make a decision,” he said Friday by phone.

Ajayi will visit LMU next week followed by Miami. Ajayi had previously listed Florida State, too.

He attended Seton Hall last week for the win over then-No. 15 St. John’s.

“It was a real good game,” he said. “I had fun over there and I really liked it and everything.”

He added: “Me and my dad and my mom and my brother was there with me. We went to the classes. They had a good business management course, which is what I want to major in.”

He also attended Tennessee for the regular-season finale, a loss to Kentucky.

“It’s a beautiful campus,” he said. “They have tremendous fans. They love the players and the city.”

Ajayi told Mike Griffith of GoVolsExtra.com that he discussed his recruitment with fellow Nigerian and former Tennessee player Emmanuel Negedu, now at New Mexico.

“I know Emmanuel, and we have talked on the phone,” Ajayi said. “He said this is a good spot for me because I would play right away, and the two bigs guys [Brian Williams and John Fields] are leaving.”

Ajayi hopes to decide by April 1.

“By the end of this month,” he said, “I will come up with my decision.”
