Recruiting Picking Up for St. Patrick’s Martin

RAHWAY, N.J. — More than any other player on his team, Chris Martin may be benefiting from St. Patrick’s undefeated season and run to a potential mythical national championship.

While fellow seniors Michael Gilchrist (Kentucky) and Derrick Gordon (Western Kentucky) locked up their college choices long ago, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Martin is uncommitted and is using St. Patrick’s run as a springboard to more college scholarship options.

“It’s helped a lot,” Martin said Sunday after scoring 13 points as the undefeated Celtics (26-0)  beat Gill St. Bernard, 69-41, in the Non-Public North B semifinals. “My recruiting is skyrocketing at St. Pat’s.”
