Arizona-bound forward Sidiki Johnson and uncommitted senior guard Ben McLemore were dismissed from Oak Hill Academy for violating an undisclosed team rule, the Tucson Citzen reported.
When reached by phone Monday, Oak Hill coach Steve Smith confirmed that two players were no longer on the team and are no longer students at Oak Hill.
The 6-foot-9, 220-pound Johnson is a New York City native who had transferred to Oak Hill from St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark.
The 6-5, 180-pound McLemore (pictured) is a St. Louis native who has narrowed his choices to Kansas and Missouri.
Oak Hill (26-3), which now has nine players left, played without Johnson and McLemore Saturday at the Presidential Hoopfest at Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Md. They beat Arlington (Va.) Country Day, 103-76, behind Duke-bound Quinn Cook’s 28 points.
The Warriors have two regular season games remaining Friday and Saturday.
Smith said he expects Oak Hill — ranked No. 8 by ESPN Rise — to be invited to the ESPN Rise National High School Invitational in April.
