With Career Winding Down, Walker Focused on Winning

NEWARK, N.J. — Kemba Walker hasn’t said definitively whether he’ll leave UConn after this season.

But if you consider he’s a leading contender for National Player of the Year; is on pace to graduate in three years; and is projected as a lottery pick by DraftExpress.com, it all points to the former Manhattan Rice star leaving campus after his junior season.

“I just want to get school over with, to tell you the truth,” Walker told SNY.tv after scoring 19 points as No. 6 UConn stopped a two-game losing streak with a 61-59 victory over Seton Hall on Saturday fueled by a 15-3 game-ending run. “I’m not a big fan of school, so I just want to get it over with.”
