    Seton Hall’s 2011 recruiting haul hasn’t garnered the headlines that St. John’s and Rutgers’ classes have.

    But the Pirates may have gotten a steal in Aaron Cosby, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard from Louisville, KY who plays at Northfield (Mass.) Mount Hermon.

    In back-to-back games this weekend against The Hun School and Blair Academy in the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament at Blair, Cosby dropped 20 and 28 points, respectively, and combined to drain 10 3-pointers in the two games.

    After NMH drilled Blair 65-42 to win its fourth straight Coaches vs. Cancer event Sunday, Cosby is averaging 24.3 points and 5.5 assists a game.

    Despite a report earlier this week that Baylor had offered a scholarship to an 11-year old 8th-grader, don’t believe the hype.

    Adrian Moore, a 6-foot-3 8th-grader from Arkansas, received a letter from the Baylor staff last week that he and his family believed was a scholarship offer.

    But as you can see from the picture here, it was just a questionnaire. (Does a site called TheHoopDoctors.com really not know what an NLI looks like?)

    EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Mike Krzyzewski has his right foot on the accelerator and is closing fast on the history books.

    Dean Smith can see Coach K practically on his back bumper right now, and Bob Knight need only glance at his rear view mirror to view Krzyzewski’s hard charge.

    With No. 1 Duke’s 82-70 victory Saturday over Butler at the Izod Center, Coach K won his 876th career game and moved into a tie with Adolph Rupp for third place on the all-time wins list.

    “I’m gonna win more games, I think,” Krzyzewski cracked. “Coach Rupp, God bless him, is not.”

    Two days after the NCAA’s controversial Cam Newton ruling, Kentucky asked the NCAA to take a second look at the eligibility of freshman center Enes Kanter.

    The school and the NCAA issued a joint statement Friday saying Kentucky has asked for an opportunity to submit additional information about Kanter’s eligibility.

    “When a school receives new information that could impact a student-athlete’s eligibility, it is a standard NCAA process to provide the university with an opportunity to resubmit the case for consideration,” the statement said.

    Arizona State, Articles, Notre Dame, UCLA, West Virginia

    Maurice Aniefiok, one of the top uncommitted guards in the country, is planning some upcoming visits, including a trip to Arizona State later this month.

    Joe Boncore, Aniefiok’s mentor, would like the 6-foot-5, 210-pound combo guard to visit Tempe sometime between Dec. 23-29, when Huntington (West Va.) Prep has no games scheduled.

    “That’s the week he can visit,” Boncore said. “We want him to take visits.”
