Hall’s Lawrence Gets 5 Years Probation

Seton Hall senior guard Keon Lawrence on Wednesday entered a guilty plea in Middlesex County Court for his 2009 wrong-way driving incident on the Garden State Parkway and received five years probation, multiple sources with knowledge said.

He will be sentenced sometime in early 2011, a legal source said.

New Jersey State Police had no official comment. Neither did Seton Hall.

Lawrence received summonses last January for DWI and driving with a suspended license for the Nov. 9, 2009 accident.

The incident left 56-year old Newark resident Kenneth Smith injured.

Seton Hall suspended Lawrence for the first semester in 2009 and he missed the team’s first eight games.

The 6-foot-2 Lawrence is averaging 3.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists this season.
