Syracuse Brings Young Team to Jimmy V

NEW YORK — Wesley Johnson, Andy Rautins and Jonny Flynn were all at Madison Square Garden Monday night.

Yet none of the former Syracuse stars will be suiting up there Tuesday when No. 8 Syracuse  (8-0) meets No. 7 Michigan State (6-2)  in the Jimmy V Classic. No. 4 Kansas faces No. 13 Memphis in the first game of the doubleheader.

“It looks very different,” Johnson, the reigning Big East Player of the Year, said of Syracuse before scoring five points on 2 of 6 shooting in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 121-114 loss to the Knicks at MSG.
