Rutgers announced Sunday that guard Malick Kone of Guinea has signed to compete for the Scarlet Knights.
Kone joins forward Kadeem Jack (Queens, N.Y.), power forward/center Greg Lewis (Baltimore, Md.), point guard Myles Mack (Paterson, N.J.), power forward/center Derrick Randall (Brooklyn, N.Y.), guard Jerome Seagears (Baltimore, Md.) and shooting guard Mike Taylor (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in the highest-rated men’s basketball recruiting class in school history.
“We are very excited to announce Malick to complete our incoming class,” head coach Mike Rice said. “Recruiting these young men to Rutgers University has been a very rewarding process. We are confident that they have the talent, character and work ethic to make a significant impact on the future of Rutgers basketball.”
Rutgers’ incoming signee class of Jack, Kone, Lewis, Mack, Randall, Seagears and Taylor has been ranked among the nation’s best by every major recruiting news service and received an “A” grade from ESPN.com this past week. The class is currently ranked No. 12 nationally by ESPNU and No. 15 nationally by Rivals.com.
