Greene, IMG Players to Sign Late

Dan Barto, the post-graduate coordinator/coach at the IMG Basketball Academy, said none of his players, including guard Phil Greene and wing DeAndre Daniels, will visit anywhere until 2011 and won’t sign until the spring.

“None of our kids are going to take any visits until 2011,” Barto said Saturday by phone. “We’re trying to rebuild our team from scratch. We need all our guys here taking care of their schoolwork.”

The 6-foot-2 Greene, a Chicago native, was supposed to visit West Virginia this weekend and St. John’s next.

He is also considering DePaul, Oklahoma State, UTEP, Oregon, Arizona State, TCU and Marquette.

Asked if all of his players would commit in the spring, Barto said, “Most likely.”

Daniels, a 6-7 wing whose departure for IMG from Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft after decommitting from Texas was first reported by ZAGSBLOG.com, is also in that group.

So are 6-6 PF Jamari Traylor and 6-5 SF Shayok Shayok.

“I think we’re just going to focus on the team and getting the kids better individually,” Barto said. “We want to allow them to go visit schools in full basketball mode as opposed to just going to a football game.

“Also, things might change in the spring with coaching changes.”
