Tyler Harris took his unofficial to UConn Saturday.
The 6-foot-8 St. Benedict’s Prep forward from Long Island has trimmed his list to seven schools: St. John’s, N.C. State, Wake Forest, Providence, Iowa, South Florida and UConn.
“Tyler had a great trip to UConn today,” said his father, Torrel. “He met with Coach [Jim] Calhoun and Andre LaFleur about the direction of the UConn basketball program.
“Coach Calhoun spoke with Tyler about his strengths and weaknesses and what he needs to continue doing to be a great player. Coach Calhoun has been watching Tyler progress since he was in the 8th grade. Tyler first came to UConn elite camp with his brother, Tobias, and he loved it.
“Tyler played pickup ball with the team . He shot well. The players were real cool and he had a good time.”
Harris will next take in-home visits from Sept. 9-20.
