Josiah Turner is mainly considering five schools, according to his mother, Doris Ward.
Turner has officials planned to Louisville, UCLA, Arizona, Oregon and Kansas.
UConn appears to be out and Turner may also take an unofficial to Oklahoma.
“He probably won’t go to UConn,” Ward said Tuesday night by phone.
She then added that there are “mostly five” schools he’s looking at.
The 6-foot-3 Turner is the No. 2 point guard in the Class of 2011. He has the following official set, per his mother.
Sept. 4 – Louisville
Sept. 10/11 – UCLA
Sept. 17 – Arizona
Oct. 2 – Oregon
Oct. 15 – Kansas
Ward said Turner wouldn’t necessarily take all five visits, either.
“If he likes something he’ll commit,” she said.
“It’s not that he has to take all five.”
Asked if he had a favorite, she said. “I haven’t talked to him about any favorites.”
D’ANGELO HARRISON DOWN TO THREE
D’Angelo Harrison is down to three schools after Monday’s unofficial visit to St. John’s.
“Marquette, Baylor and St. John’s,” he said Tuesday night by text.
As for the St. John’s visit, Harrison said, “I liked it.”
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Harrison had previously listed Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.
He was originally supposed to visit Oklahoma State this week, but asked if that was still the case, he said, “No.”

Rumor is he more then likely will commit to KU after late night, and thats not me being a cocky KU fan just seems to be the wise word.
/
ZonaWildcat / September 1, 2010
Well on the other end of the spectrum rumor has it he is an Arizona lean.
I heard the last time he visited Kansas he couldn’t stand the weather. The school itself and the school atmosphere was great but he couldn’t stand the weather.
On top of that Arizona’s main objective is to get the kid to commit before visiting you guys; well Miller got him to schedule his in-home visit with Arizona for the 9th of September and his official was moved for the 17th of September.
Why is it on the 17th of September? Because that is when his AAU teammate and good friend Nick Johnson, who is an Arizona commit, will be visiting. So they will visit together which will only help Arizona’s chances.
I can go on and on with other tidbits but I think we all know the recruiting game changes every single day so you never know what is going to happen. But the major consensus is that Turner’s top 2 are Arizona and Kansas.

Anything can change in recruiting and Im sure AZ is in play. The rumors will fly but most official analyst feel its KU. Now #19 overall BJ Young is saying he loves KU and is excited they are interested. He is the #4 PG and lives in Missouri so either way looks like a good guard will be coming. I still bet on Turner to KU.

Jayhawk_Jake / September 1, 2010
Also if weather is the deciding factor that is just plan dumb. Sure nice weather is great but wouldnt you wanna pick a school that would make u the best u can be, not saying Miller cant do that for him but if its weather he may as well commit to Hawaii.

Than why hasn’t Turner committed to Kansas if he’s suck a lock? He has already made it to “Late Night” and knows what it’s about.
Turner and his mom have said on numerous interviews that they want to wrap up this recruiting circus as quickly as possible so Josiah can concentrate on his senior year and not worry about recruiting, so why not commit to you guys now?
Turner has also said that he may not do all his officials if he comes across a school he likes.
Here is a direct quote; “I plan on taking all my visits, but if I come across a school I really like, that could change” Turner.
So Kansas being his last visit isn’t something I would feel comfortable with. He is obviously saying if he likes a school he may commit without even taking the rest of his visits. Bad news for Kansas.
Josiah even said he changed his date to visit Arizona so he could go with his good friend Nick Johnson. Again here is another quote..
“That’s one of the reasons why I moved it up; Nick is able to be there that weekend,” Turner said. “I’m looking forward to it. I want to see the campus and the facilities. I’ve never been to Tucson.” Turner
I think it’s still 50/50 between Arizona and Kansas but I mean no way you should feel comfortable saying he is a lock. I wouldn’t be surprised if he commits to Arizona on his official with us. Watch!

Easy not trying to argue here, and I have never said he is a lock, I said I would bet on KU. Sounds like a little discomfort that way. No one is ever a lock, either way KU will be fine, KU is always loaded would I like have him at Ku yes without a doubt, if not oh well. No need to get all fired up and come at me like Im saying AZ can’t recruit, because we all know they can. All Im saying is I feel he will be a Jayhawk.
/
ZonaWildcat / September 1, 2010
Sorry if I came across as if I was arguing. I just find it funny that many KU fans still think Turner is a lock when all the events and interviews from Turner the last several weeks would suggest otherwise.
We’ll see here in a couple weeks how things turn out. If Turner makes it out of Miller’s in-home visit with him, and than his official visit to Arizona without committing to us, than I think he is Kansas bound. Otherwise I think he commits on the spot.

Good Stuff AZ.
Keep it coming.
We have a new member of Kansas Gangster U.
I see why Woody is so quite…lol.
Pay special attention…
He will not take all FIVE visits.
8 days for its in home visit.
And then the Big Commit.
So far, Bill has not landed anybody.
WHY?
Of all those problems….
That makes TWO or THREE years of poor recruiting for Kansas Gangster U.
Note
How is Lew doing?

Az no harm done you seem level headed, Jessie seen you on here not surprised you have something smart to say. I will not dog AZ because of you Im sure they see you as making their school look bad. Yeah KU has no commits yet, but and call me cocky if you want it is KU and they will have a few. Bill Self has the highest winning percentage in all of college basketball since arriving at KU, won at least a share of the BIg 12 title every year except one and a National Title, yeah I bet Ku is so screwed and they will just fall off the face of the map now, get serious and quit hating. All you do on these boards is try to stir up trouble. Attack me all you will, and cut the Gangster U crap, sure Im not proud nor are any KU fans of what thigns have happened but really just calling us Gangster u wow, very intelligent and creative of you man. I’ve already said to much and I wont give you the satisfaction of responding to your immaturity anymore. Good luck to AZ anyway you did a great job with hiring Miller he will get you back on track, see I show respect where it is deserved unlike Jessie guess some people never grow up.
/
RockChalkWoody / September 1, 2010
Jessie, you’re right, that Gangster U stuff has finally caught up with KU. I’d be surprised if Bill Self ever lands another Top-50 recruit–ever. He’s obviously lost his touch since grabbing that Selby guy last season & it may be time to go find somebody who can get the job done.
As for Turner, it’s way too close to call. I can see why Zona fans and KU fans both feel confidant right now.

haha, what a bunch of losers…getting worked up over a kid in high school. lets be honest here, arizona needs him, their program and league are in the dumps, they are living off what they once were(a top 15 program). as far as kansas goes, theyre bigger than one recruit, if he doesnt go to ku theyll get someone else and the team’s results wont be different.

Wow, Jayhawk Jake and Zona Wildcat two of the most level headed arguments i’ve seen on here! Congrats! Its a pleasure logging on here and not having moronic fans feeling like they own the world (Jessie doesn’t count, and yes we do see him as making our school look bad). Honestly, all signs point to him leaning towards UA, but all the “insiders” have him being a KU lean. Zona definately needs him more, cause the only other PG their inolved with Cook, just got injured. KU is still involved with many highly rated guards, not to mention Beal who might decommitt and go to KU. Its a good battle that KU has won in the past, lets hope UA is able to start winning some of these battles against UA.

What happened? He just committed to Arizona. I am sorry to hear all you KU fans are heart broken. lol Go Cats.

JessieWildcat / September 19, 2010
Woody,
TOLD YOU.
Like I said…Turner was a good match for Arizona.
Kansas Gangster U does NOT even get a visit.
Big news coming from Kansas and the ncaa.
