Harris Visits Providence, UConn Pushed Back

Tyler Harris took an unofficial visit to Providence Tuesday, but will have to reschedule Wednesday’s trip to UConn.

The 6-foot-8, 195-pound Harris, the No. 17 small forward in the Class of 2011 out of Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West, tripped to Providence with his father, Torrel.

“The Providence trip went well,” Torrel said by text. “We enjoyed meeting Coach Keno Davis and his staff. Providence is a great academic school with a rich history. I didn’t know so many great players went to the school, from Lenny Wilkins, John Thompson, Marvin Barnes, Eric Murdock, Ryan Gomes, Eric Williams are just a few.

“We met the academic advisor, the strength speed and agility trainer. We watched film of the offense on how Tyler would fit into their system. Overall it was a very good unofficial visit.”

Unfortunately, the Harris’ ran into car trouble on the way home and will have to push the UConn visit back, possibly to next Tuesday or Wednesday.
