Kyle Anderson Considering St. John’s

After taking an unofficial visit to St. John’s Thursday, St. Anthony junior Kyle Anderson, the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2012, is now considering the Queens school.

“The visit went well,” Kyle Anderson Sr. said. “The whole staff gave a view of where the program is headed and the contributions Kyle could make. They talked about the talented players from the 2011 class that they were involved with and the timetable when St. John’s can be back in the upper echelon of the Big East.

“Kyle came away with a different view of St. John’s and its staff. If things hold true to what we discussed, St. John’s would be in the thick of Kyle’s recruitment.”

The 6-8 Anderson will take unofficials to La Salle (Aug. 31) and Seton Hall (Sept. 1).

La Salle, Virginia Tech, Miami, Pittsburgh, Villanova, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Kentucky, Louisville, Georgetown, Maryland, Xavier, DePaul, Michigan, Georgia Tech and St. Peter’s have all offered.

North Carolina, Wake Forest, Baylor, Indiana, USC, Virginia, Oklahoma State, UCLA, Syracuse, Florida, Florida State and Kansas have shown interest.
