De’Andre Daniels will visit USC Saturday and UCLA Sunday, but beyond that his plans remain unclear, according to Derrick Taylor, his coach at Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft.
“I don’t know,” said Taylor, who was waiting to meet Friday with Daniels and his father. “I have to talk to his dad.”
Taylor said Daniels, who appears to be reclassifying to 2010 from 2011, will visit the California schools this weekend “because they’re both local.”
Taylor said Kentucky and Texas were also involved, but wasn’t sure who else the family was considering. Daniels recently decommitted from Texas.
The 6-foot-8, 180-pound Daniels is ranked the No. 3 shooting guard in the Class of 2011 by Rivals, and Taylor compared him to a young Scottie Pippen.
“I think he has a chance be an impact player,” Taylor said. “He’s improving as fast as anybody I’ve ever seen. Year to year he’s making gigantic leaps. He still has much more to go because he has a thin, young body. He shoots it well. He’s very skilled. He can handle, he can pass it. He’s a big, big rebounder. He rebounds very well. He’s a shot-blocker because he’s so long.
“I call him a poor man’s Scottie Pippen-type. He’s long and rangy on the wing and he’ll defend it. He’s a willing defender.”

This season was going to be horrible- NO NC.
YES, with all the HYPE, Cali hit a BUST.
Enes is not going to play.
And Cali and Dirty Blue did the unthinkable.
They talked and talked and talked to those around De Daniels.
The PLAN from the get-go was to reclassify and visit the LA schools and finally end up at Kensucky.

Of course UK paid Daniels. Is it obvious. Cal knew 2 years ago that Dodson would not be playing this year, so he had asked Daniels to take night classes so that he can decommit from UT. Further more he planned it as such that Daniels would not be able to enrol in summer classes at UK so that he wouldn’t be available to travel to Canada for the preseason games. Obviously you don’t want your freshmen to be playing in preseason games, that will give them a head start and learn the offense which is bad for Cal (I’m not sure why it’s bad for Cal just yet). Plus by Daniels not playing in Canada it allowed the walk on Cal has on the roster (Jarod Polston) to get minutes in the preseason games. Getting minutes will pay off in 2014 March Madness for UK.
It’s so blatantly obvious, I’m confused as to why no one else could figure this out?

Funny. If KY has to pay good players to play for them, why do good players play for other schools?
For their superior basketball program? Uh, but then ESPN dubbed UK the best basketball program ever, so that’s not it.
Maybe it’s because the other schools have a more winning tradition? No, that’s not it. UK leads in all time wins.
I know! Maybe it’s because they have better facilities? Wait, UK is considered the Taj Mahal of College Basketball Facilities so that can’t be it.
I know! Maybe it’s because the other schools have better fan support? Oh, no. That can’t be it because UK is #1 in attendance every year.
Got it! Other teams games are televised more! Oh, wait. Every UK game is televised and we just played in Canada and it was televised in 20 states. IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST!!!
Now that I think about it. It makes more sense that other teams would have to pay players. Which would mean that fans of those teams would be outraged that their teams are paying good players and still can’t get it done so they come on these message boards and write anonymous and utterly stupid comments that expose their misery for their basketball program because it doesn’t quite measure up.
I hope Deandre Daniels goes where is best for him. This story was about HIM, and not UK.

It has to be Calipari behind this. Just like he was the one who pulled Josh Selby and Tennessee apart so he could go to UK too. Oh wait, UK didn’t even recruit him that hard, and Selby was the one who kept UK on his list. And now he is at Kansas.
