  • Barry to New Mexico State

Remi Barry has landed at New Mexico State.

A 6-foot-7 French native who was enrolled at Loomis (Calif.) Del Oro High, Barry chose that school because the WAC accepts non-qualifiers.

“It was just the best choice for me,” Barry said by text.

Asked if he will have to sit a year, he said, “Yes.”

Barry, who has NBA potential, was initially considering St. John’s, UCLA and Arizona State but could not enroll because he didn’t qualify.

“I’m waiting on the NCAA on everything,” Barry said last month.

“Basically, there’s a lot of things they don’t know. They don’t know if I’m eligible. They’re trying to figure it out.”

Doc Haynes, Barry’s AAU coach, said he wasn’t sure exactly what Barry needed to do in order to qualify.

    “Not sure,” he said.

    • Good stuff AZ.

Thanks for the dates on Carson.

What is going on with Texas Long Horns.
      Big PROBLEM with that recruiter.

The Texas coaches DO NOT know what they want.
They get too many commits and then DROP the recruits. Do not call the recruits daily.

The West Players are saying NO to Texas, Barry.

How will the EAST players react?
If they finally get the TRUTH about Texas.

    • Any updates on Quinn Cook???

      Any Cook Book’s coming.

Hearing that there is a TOP4 list.
      GT,UNC,Arizona,Duke

But, DUKE will not offer pending the Rivers commit.
If River commits then Cook gets no offer.
The deal is River must play point guard in order to go to Duke.

      Whatz the latest?

    • I think Cook wants to go to UNC, but Roy has not offered. Rivers will be a combo guard for coach K. It will be interesting to see where Cook ends up, as I think he can be a really good 2-3 yr college player, wherever he ends up.
