Stephenson Issues Statement

Lance Stephenson’s attorney, Alberto Ebanks, just texted me this statement on behalf of his client.

“The allegations against Lance Stephenson Jr. are very serious. Mr. Stephenson did not maliciously, intentionally or in any other way cause harm to Jasmine Williams.

“Everyone, especially Lance, regrets that this incident occurred. We look forward to addressing these charges in the appropriate venue.”

As first reported here earlier Monday, Stephenson, a 6-foot-5 rookie guard with the Indiana Pacers, faces a preliminary hearing Oct. 19 in Brooklyn criminal court.

He was charged with assault, attempted assault, harassment, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon after pushing Williams, the mother of his daughter, down a flight of stairs early Sunday morning after she returned with two friends to her Brooklyn apartment.

  • I remember being on this blog about a little over a year ago and I made a comment that Lance Stephenson was a cancer…a Stephon Marbury in the making. Calling him Stephon seems generous at this point.

Some moron – LORD2FLI (I believe that’s his moniker) disagreed with me and told me I should give him the benefit of the doubt.

Would anyone out there like to give Lance the benefit of the doubt now?

He’s been charged w/sexual assault, beat up a teammate and now he’s charged with throwing his baby’s mother down a flight of stairs.

Bomani Jones calls Born Ready — “the epitome of insufficient daddying.”

I call him a bad seed.
