If Anthony Davis has indeed decided to play college ball at Kentucky, he hasn’t told anyone at Syracuse or Ohio State.
Both schools haven’t heard from Davis regarding his decision and still believe they have a chance, multiple sources with knowledge said Tuesday.
The 6-foot-10 Davis out of Chicago Perspectives Charter initially cut his list to Kentucky, Syracuse and Ohio State before taking a recent visit to DePaul.
Anthony Davis Sr. has threatened a lawsuit against the Chicago Sun-Times for printing that he asked Kentucky for a six-figure payment in return for his son’s commitment, despite providing no evidence to corroborate the charge.
The Sun-Times and other outlets also cited “sources” saying Davis had decided to attend Kentucky.
If Davis does land at Kentucky, he would join a blockbuster recruiting class that already includes two of the top five players in the Class of 2011 — 6-6 wing Michael Gilchrist of Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick and 6-2 point guard Marquis Teague of Indianapolis Pike.
HARKLESS SETS FIRST OFFICIAL TO MARYLAND
Maurice Harkless, the 6-8 rising senior from Queens, will visit St. John’s unofficially on Sept. 2 and will take his first official to Maryland Sept. 17.
After a terrific summer on the AAU circuit, Harkless trimmed his list to eight schools: St. John’s, Maryland, Florida, N.C. State, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Arizona and Memphis.
Asked why Maryland gets the first visit, he said: “I just really wanted to get down there and check it out.”
BYRNES TO ROBERT MORRIS
Former Winchendon (Mass.) School coach Mike Byrnes officially joined the staff at Robert Morris on Monday.
“When the opportunity came knocking and when coach [Andy] Toole gave me the phone call he made it so intriguing to work with the youngest Division 1 head coach and the reasons he wanted me to come in, it was a challenge I couldn’t turn down,” Byrnes said.
Byrnes, 44, spent 14 years at “The Winch,” compiling a 401-131 prep record and sending over 100 kids to the Division 1 ranks.
He said the Winchendon School has also undergone a “philosophical change” with its new Headmaster and that that made it easier for him to leave.
His two daughters, Elizabeth (8) and Ashley (3), are old enough that a relocation to Pittsburgh isn’t too difficult.
“I’ve always had the aspirations to be a college coach,” he said. “It was just an opportunity I couldn’t’ turn down.”
Byrnes was succeeded at Winchendon by Matt Quinn, the son of St. Thomas More (Conn.) coach Jere Quinn.

I like the new Site Design. And I think A.Davis and UK are still on the same page. Like A.Davis Sr. said, “He will announce in 2-3 weeks.” They are just trying to figure out How/When/Where to announce the decision.

Did you hear the latest SMOKE SCREEN from Kentucky…
Is UK telling the NCAA that the whole nation is against them and everyone has them as a target.
Knock Knock- Did you UK win the NC? NO.
Knock Knock- Is UK going to win the NC ,this year? NO
So, if you are not winning National Championship…. then the arguement does not make sense…YOU have to WIN many NC inorder to have the nation against UK.
When will the NCAA make statements…within 3-4 weeks.
The NCAA timing will be approx. the same as A.Davis announcementS.

hey jessie. YOUR wildcats are the ones on probation and had to vacate wins under your “classy” coach olson. Check the NCAA records. Lute has more violations on his record than Coach Cal. Good luck finishing in the top half of a WEAK pac-10.

Jessie Wildcat is a moron, everybody should disregard anything he says, he is an absolute shit for brains.
Everybody wants to make up stuff about KY quoting unnamed sources and nothing ever comes to fruition.
