Anthony Davis is pulling a LeBron James.
He’s made his decision but won’t let the public know for a couple of weeks.
“Yes, it’s the LeBron wait and see time,” Anthony Davis Sr. said Tuesday night by text.
The 6-foot-10 Davis out of Chicago Perspectives Charter has likely chosen from among Kentucky, Ohio State and Syracuse. DePaul appears to be a long shot.
He visited Kentucky Sunday and DePaul Monday.
“Both were great,” Davis Sr. said via text Monday night. “Still waiting 2 visit Ohio State and Syracuse.”
He has already visited Ohio State but not Syracuse. Now it appears Davis won’t take any further visits.
One head coach in the mix said he didn’t know where Davis would land.
It remains unclear if DePaul is under consideration, but Blue Demons coach Oliver Purnell watched Davis during the Peach Jam.
Davis said at that event that his final three were Kentucky, Syracuse and Ohio State.
“Each team has players go to the league,” Davis said at the Peach Jam. “Wesley Johnson from Syracuse, Evan Turner from Ohio State and John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe [from Kentucky], all of them went to the league. It’s just a great program, so that’s why I want to go to the NBA.”
Davis considered North Carolina but eventually ruled that out.

Not only are Kentucky & Calipari likely to land 3 Top 5 kids for 2011, they are also outstanding young men. All are hard workers that are humble and supremely talented.

We are still assuming he is coming to UK. My gut says yes, but we don’t know yet….. IF he comes, I’m going to be ecstatic. However, this class truly lacks a talented true big man (center, Cousins type). Davis is about as close as it get size wise, but he is ultra versatile. I think regardless though, Gilchrist should retain that top spot. Did you see his stat line from the Gold Medal team? Most productive player by far.
