UConn Back in Harkless Race; Pumps’ Charity Off Limits to Coaches; Caracter, Ebanks Excel

The latest news in the Maurice Harkless story is that UConn is now back in the mix for the 6-foot-6 Queens, N.Y. wing who previously decommitted from the Big East school.

“Uconn is back on the list for @moe_harkless tell me this recruiting thing isnt bananas,” Nate Blue, Harkless’ mentor, wrote on Twitter.

Blue said via text the following schools were in play for Harkless: Arizona, Memphis, St. John’s, Georgetown, Miami, South Florida, Rutgers, Xavier, Virginia, Maryland, Syracuse, Temple, Pitt, Providence, UConn and Cincinnati.

All have offered except Syracuse and Georgetown.

Harkless initially decomitted from UConn June 21.

**Yahoo! Sports reports that the NCAA has barred college coaches from financial relationships with the Harold Pump Foundation run by the brothers David and Dana Pump.

**Derrick Caracter and Devin Ebanks stand a good shot of making the L.A. Lakers roster.

“They’ve both played well,” Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak told the L.A. Times. “They’ve practiced well. Their effort and their attention to detail has been good. They’ve played well, generally speaking, in practice and in games.”
