Not long after speaking Monday morning with Anthony Davis Jr. and Sr., I called the father back to clarify something.
He ended up breaking the news that his son, a 6-foot-9, 187-pound forward from Chicago Perspectives Charter School, had actually cut his list to three schools.
“We’re looking at Syracuse, Kentucky and Ohio State,” Anthony Sr. said. “I think those three schools fit perfectly in the style of basketball he plays.”
Davis Sr. said his son, the No. 2 power forward in the nation according to Rivals, planned to announce his college choice sometime in “mid-July.”
“Yep, right around then we’ll be letting everybody know where he’s going,” Anthony Sr. said.
He said his son wants to major in sports management and said two of the three schools had strong programs, but he wasn’t certain which ones.
“I know two of the schools have his major and I don’t know off hand which two it was,” he said.

“He said his son wants to major in sports management and said two of the three schools had strong programs, but he wasn’t certain which ones.”
Those three schools are not known for having strong sports management programs. Someone should tell Mr. Davis that if he wants his son to go to a school with a strong SM program, which will give him options should basketball not work out, he should be looking at Temple, UMass, Oregon, Louisville, Texas, and West Virginia.
Kentucky and Ohio State’s programs are not accredited. Syracuse’s program will be very good, but it’s very new, having started in 2005.

you took that comment seriously? really?

I would think his father would care about his son’s education.

You have some bad info , He will be in Louisville as early as Wednesday with Wayne Blackshear on a visit .

I asked his father specifically about Louisville and he said “That is not one of the schools we are considering.”
/
BostonCat / June 29, 2010
evan danials talked to him and reports the same. coast to coast recruiting called davis and he again reiterated that his top 3 are syracuse, osu, and kentucky

Common Zag, you can’t trust what the kid’s own father tells you. Only trust what “Owensboroky” has to say! (Sarcasm, for all the slow ones out there)

GasCan / June 29, 2010
You misunderstood. Only his unibrow, which is rated 5-star by Facial Follicle Magazine, will be accompanying Wayne Blackshear on his trip to “tha ‘ville”.

I just heard that Davis and Blackshear missed or are going to miss there visit to Louisville…sorry Owensboroky . Can someone confirm this?

Sorry I thought that maybe this kid wanted a education .Kentucky and Ohio State programs are not even accredited in his major .When the father sounded confused about that , that is why I assumed something was wrong .And sure looks like funny . but with the new President from Washington , you can guarantee The cats will be watched under a close eye ,Oh wait Kentucky is under investigation again .

BostonCat / June 29, 2010
been though this i dont know how many times. uk is not under any investigation currently. believe what you want and considering how things are going on UL i can understand why you would want to make stuff to feel better about your current situation but its not going to change your current situation.
there are plenty of degrees the kid can choose from, from any school in his top 3 to get a good education if he wants.

If he wants to make it to the NBA he best stay away from UL…..Just ask S.S. or D.C. even though D.C. did make it by the way of UTEP….

The person whose advice he is most keen on seeking is former Chicagoan, Evan Turner.

While most Kentucky fans would like think Bledsoe issue is over ,I afraid your quite incorrect, yes it being looked into . .It not about not if it is about when .I think I would be worried if I had stole 2 major recruits using some various unethical tactics and former president happens to come from Washington . I think also i would worry if there is a nba lockout , how about the class that is already coming in .KInda Hard to get to the nba if you do not get on the floor .

BostonCat / June 30, 2010
just another absurdly misinformed UL fan that has nothing better to do then to sit around and hope something bad happens to UK. it is about all you can do really so i dont blame you. i mean when your best returning player is preston knowles who is in the doghouse your team has major major issues.
keep believing in fantasies….the reality is just too difficult for you to handle.

Wow! I thought “JessieWildcat” would forever reign as the undisputed king of incoherent comments, but this “Owensboroky” has shown some real promise. With gems such as “And sure looks like funny .” and “While most Kentucky fans would like think Bledsoe issue is over ,I afraid your quite incorrect, yes it being looked into . .It not about not if it is about when .” , he is showing that he could be a real threat to Jessie’s title. My personal favorite is his unintentional use of irony, these two examples were found in the same thread that he questions someone else’s commitment to education.

BTW…the Coleman kid is not going to be eligible either. UL has it’s own problems so why don’t you worry about little brother a little more.

Bledsoe’s situation will have no impact on UK.He did nothing wrong, nothing to see there, move on!
Stole 2 recruits?
I wasn’t aware that they were signed with UW…After seeing how much PR that UK gets and seeing how many players go on to the next level,I’d say they realize that going to UK is a much more of an elite level than UW…..
NBA lockout?
Like you said “IF”…..An even “if” there is a lockout UK will still have 4 rides available for 2011…Gilchrist-Teague-Knight-Kanter- Terrence Jones would be alright with me as a starting 5 and the bench would still be able to beat Louisville by double digits……

BlueCat32 / June 30, 2010
Bench would be ….
Hood
Poole
Lamb
Liggins
Miller
Vargas
2 new recruits, probably elite level 5 star players
