While most of us in the sports world were focused Tuesday night on the NBA Draft Lottery, Celtics-Magic and Yankees-Red Sox, there were a couple of key musical events that I missed out on.
Down the road from the draft lottery, Pearl Jam played The Prudential Center in Newark. Here’s the setlist, which included encores of Tom Waits’ ‘Jersey Girl’ and Dylan’s ‘Watchtower.’ Eddie Vedder and the boys come to MSG Thursday and Friday, and I’ll be at Friday’s show.
Up in Albany, Neil Young opened his ‘Twisted Road Solo Tour’ in style with versions of ‘Hey Hey, My My,’ ‘Down by the River,’ ‘After the Gold Rush,’ ‘Cinammon Girl,’ and ‘Cortez The Killer.”
I’m driving up to the Connecticut show on Sunday night with a buddy…which means DVR’ing the ‘Lost’ finale…but that’s another story.
Hit the play button above for a 1993 version of ‘Rockin in the Free World’ featuring Neil and Pearl Jam. Enjoy…
