Sidiki Johnson, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound rising senior wing committed to Arizona, is the latest New York City star to leave the area for school.
Bernard Bowen, Johnson’s father, said Johnson will depart Newark (N.J.) St. Benedict’s Prep to spend next season at national power Oak Hill (Va.) Academy.
“He’s going to Virginia,” Bowen said Tuesday by phone. “He’s finishing up strong academically, trying to get ready to take that next step and go to Oak Hill. We’re just trying to get ready for college. That’s what it’s all about.”

The Tucson Citizen writes that Johnson will be the sixth Arizona player to compete at Oak Hill, following Orlando Vega (1988), Ben Davis (1991), Stephen Jackson (1996), Brandon Jennings (2008), and Lamont “Momo” Jones (2009).

“Absolutely,” he said. “There won’t be any decommitting over there.”
certainly hope so, but we know the vultures are always circling.

I don’t see Sidiki de-commiting unless Book were to leave the staff. Sidiki has already built relationships with the current team at Arizona, as well as a few of the players coming in.
Of course anything can happen, but I don’t think he’s going anywhere else.

the vulture i’m most worried about is coach cal. just look at the mess he made jones out to be. he can do that to sidiki on a bad hair day. also consider this scenario -if vargas is all he gets this year and he doesn’t pan out this coming season…then guys like sidiki, committed but unsigned, are open season for scoundrel. i just hope he signs early and has a blowout year.

Contrary to popular belief not all these talented players want to play for a coach like Calipari.
I wouldn’t worry bout it. He is Arizona bound.

It is reported that he communicates with Momo and Kevin Parrom almost daily. I don’t see this kid decommitting but I certainly hope he signs the first day of the early signing period!
