  • Richardson to Decide on Rutgers Soon

Arizona assistant Book Richardson will decide within the next 24 hours or so whether to accept a position as associate head coach at Rutgers under Mike Rice, a source with direct knowledge said.

“It’s just gotta be right,” the source said.

A former New York Gauchos head coach, Richardson has been influential in bringing New Yorkers Kevin Parrom and Lamont “Momo” Jones to Arizona. He also got the Wildcats involved with Queens guard Doron Lamb, who chose Kentucky, and Manhattan Rice senior forward Kadeem Jack, who is now planning to visit Kentucky and North Carolina.

Richardson previously turned down a spot on Steve Lavin’s staff at St. John’s.

    • FoxSports says “Book” will stay at Zona.

    • Yeah I just can’t see why Book would leave after only one year at Arizona. He’s said many times, that he likes what Coach Miller is doing there and followed him all the way from Xavier. I just can’t see it happening right now.

He’ll go eventually, but not for a couple more years. We need him to keep our East coast pipeline in place for future recruits.

    • I know Jessie WildCat will weigh in here… dude loooooooves Book.
