St. Francis Announces Braica as Coach (UPDATED)

**UPDATE: As first reported here Tuesday morning, Glenn Braica is the new coach at St. Francis College in Brooklyn. He signed a multi-year deal Tuesday and will be introduced Thursday at an 11:30 press conference. Here’s the release.**

St. Francis of Brooklyn is on the brink of announcing its next coach and multiple sources said former St. John’s assistant Glenn Braica is the leading candidate.

“We should be announcing in the next couple days. It could be as early as today [Tuesday]. It could be tomorrow [Wednesday],” a university source said.

Braica was at St. John’s from 2004-10 under former coach Norm Roberts, who was fired last month after six seasons.

Before that he was the Associate Head Coach at St. Francis from 2000-01 to 2003-04. At St. Francis, Braica also served as the recruiting coordinator and was instrumental in on-court coaching, scouting, individual workouts, preseason and postseason conditioning, film exchange and the monitoring of each player’s academic progress.
