NEW YORK – Year after year, Kentucky coach John Calipari has sent guards into the NBA lottery.
And year after year, that has had a dramatic effect on players like Doron Lamb.
So on Saturday night at the Jordan Brand Classic at Madison Square Garden, Lamb made a verbal commitment to the Wildcats.

Its funny how all the posters that said Doron was going to leapfrog to their schools program have all vanished since Lamb made his decision last night. Let this be a lesson, we are BLOGGERS thats It all we can do Is hope, assume and enlighten so unless you gave birth to these kids or offering them a scholarship stop giving out pretentious info on why kids will sign with your school. Congatz to all the recruits and their respective programs

Awwww maybe no has posted yet because he BARELY announced his decision last night and it’s still early the following morning. Ever thought of that?!
If this story was a week old and there were no responses I could see your point, but in this case you suffer from premature ejaculation in your comment.

No depth for Kentucky next year.

HallBall / April 18, 2010
Im really starting to think all you guys out there in the middle of nowhere you call Arizona Is either gay or has a untold encounter with RuePaul you’ve told no one about. Premature ejaculation aside, Its crazy how there Is always a answer for everything with you guys. You say the reason why Zona fans havent posted Is because Its early In the morning but yet some Zona fans still posted on the Selby thread this same exact morning. Want me to tell you why no Zona fan has posted yet because every one Including me would have to say the words you dont want to hear, which are I TOLD YOU SO!

Jessiewildcat, there goes your second “Amigo.” Maybe Book should’ve taken that St. Johns gig afterall.

Did I miss something I could have sworn Lamb said he would be attending Kentucky and not Seton Hall. In fact I don’t remember the powerhouse of New Jersey even being on his list. Anyway, most UA fans knew Miller would not be able to land Selby, Lamb and McCallum Jr. I personally wanted McCallum Jr. after seeing him play last summer in Vegas but after he did not sign early knew he was going with dad. I did find Lamb’s comment about the UA “needing more players” to be comical.
/
HallBall / April 18, 2010
First off I wasnt part of the “Zona” bandwagon who for months stated why Lamb and McCallum wasnt going to any other school on there list because the love Arizona’s atmosphere and all that other bull. Yeah right. Second I wouldnt expect Lamb to have the Hall on his list seeing as how he didnt even have his hometown school St.Johns as a legit landing spot for himself and to note the fact we just hired KW who to my knowledge only has been coach for what maybe a month and some change. Now all of sudden all the Arizona fans say they didnt expect to sign Selby, Lamb or McCallum, somebody please flush a toilet please because all I smell Is bull. For the past couple of months thats all we saw being posted was why these kids hate the other schools on their list but love Arizona, now Its ” I wasnt expecting Arizona to land them anyway so I dont care”. Bottom line how bout you guys stop writing checks that Sean Miller cant cash because at the rate your going Arizona State’s gonna be the best team in the middle of nowhere.

Hall Ball, you are the exact person you are complaining about. Chill out bro. So what, they didn’t come to Arizona. Don’t you have a P.J. Carlesimo doll to go play with?
As for baggin on the state of Arizona? I assume you live of have lived in New Jersey? come on man…

Here she is again, HallBall, gravy-training off of another program. God forbid she actually discuss Seton Hall. Usually she hypes up other Big East teams, but here it is Kentucky. I can see why a Seton Hall fan would talk trash to Arizona fans about Lamb going to Kentucky. Selby too. I mean, they both almost went to Seton Hall. Every recruit has Seton Hall on their minds.
And talking trash about Arizona when you are from New Jersey? Yes, I know, gravy-train off of New York City because I know that will be the basis of your response, despite the fact no one from New York City wants anything to do with New Jersey. Actually, I would imagine Jersey has one of the worst reputations of any state.
But let’s hear about NYC, and UConn, and UK, Seton Hall fan.
/
HallBall / April 18, 2010
Live of have lived? Uh ok……Whatever that means, I guess you were trying to find out or state that I live In Jersey which I do.
/
ArizCats / April 18, 2010
So you live in Jersey? But, you refer to Arizona as in the middle of nowhere?
/
HallBall / April 18, 2010
OK Lets about Seton Hall where do you want me to start lets see our record was better than yours, I beleive our SOS and RPI was better than yours and we are sending the second leading scorer and leading rebounder In the Big East to the NBA draft. Do you mind If I ask what the hell Is “gravytraining” some dumb Zona slang, personally I could give a shit what It Is but for the rest of the bloggers outside of Arizona elaborate on how not to be a “gravytrainer”. Now this New Jersey thing, Im from Jersey and will always be so for you to say basically Im always praising New York Is stupid. Also NY wants nothing to do with NJ, really?
Guess thats why the New York Yankees Double A affiliate Is the Trenton Thunder or why the New Jersey Nets are televised on YES which televises the Yankees or why both New York football teams play In New Jersey. Not to mention a quarter of the Seton Hall team was from New York Including Bobby Gonzalez but I guess that has nothing to do with NY and NJ being only a ten minute drive away for me. Then theres the reputation statement you imagine that Jersey has one of the worst reputations went It pretains to what, trying to talk some sense In to you southwest boneheads, your right because I dont have the patience to do so. Dont worry though I cant wait on your next post on how Arizona has a great reputation for whatever reason and how Its so luxurious to live In that pile of dirt over there.

ArizCats / April 18, 2010
You are seriously lost bro. Do you have any friends? Maybe you should move out of your parents basement and get on with life. Good luck to you.
/
HallBall / April 18, 2010
Um thats what I said right?! Yeah I stay In Jersey, Atlantic City, Casinos, Jersey Shore, and NY right next door with Madison Square and the Statue Of Liberty seperating us. So compared to my city lifestyle yeah Arizona Is middle of nowhere.
/
HallBall / April 18, 2010
Parents basement, question do you even attend U of A or are you just some moron who probably landed a job at mini market off one of those dirt roads over there.
/
ArizCats / April 18, 2010
Actually I live in NYC, work in the Flatiron district, live in the Lower east side and graduated from Arizona. Whats with the anger? I doubt your parents allowance could get you across the Hudson. get lost pal, you’re sad.
/
tsmooth / April 19, 2010
Sorry, but there is no comparison between Seton Hall and Arizona. Seton Hall can’t even hold Arizona’s jockstrap. I’ve been to Jersey, and that is nothing to brag about. Also, Jersey Shore brings attention to Jersey for all the wrong reasons.
Yea, Seton Hall is sending in Herb Pope and Jeremy Hazell to the NBA, but they won’t get drafted more than likely. To base your assumptions off of one year is asinine. When you compare the history of Arizona to the history of Seton Hall, Zona looks like UCLA when they won all those titles in a row, and Seton Hall looks like Dayton.
This is a Memphis fan, by the way.
/
HallBall / April 19, 2010
Angry about what, the fact that I doubt you graduated with a degree from U of A then come on a blog and lie about It, thats your life not mine. Then all of a sudden you now state that you live In NYC which I have a hard time taking your word for because you would have stated that In your first post and wouldnt have gotten offended and ask where I was from when I posted previously. By the way how about you take some of that allowance money Im getting from my parents and use to enroll for some night classes, I hear minimum wage should get a bump soon loser.
/
HallBall / April 19, 2010
Who said anything about comparing histories and all that bull. The Micheal guy posted something about me not talking about the Hall so I did, I could care less about the “good ol’ days” of the Lute Olson era because thats irrelevant. Speaking of comparisons I beleive that you have just made one of the most dumb ass comparisons known to college basketball, you said that Arizona Is more like UCLA when compared to Seton Hall you’ve got to be kidding. Zona has 1 NCAA title to UCLA’s11 titles In which one of those they beat your Memphis Tigers, Lute Olson was definitely a great coach but there will never be another John Wooden so lets end that. Nothing to brag about In Jersey this coming from who and where, just another guy behind a computer so take the advice we give certain people If dont like It here get in a plane, boat or car and take your ass back to where you came from.
/
UAWildcat / April 19, 2010
Hall Ball the next time you want to clown someone for a typo or poor gramatics you should check your previous post. With all of your talk about others not obtaining a degree this does not look good on you or your school.
“Im really starting to think all you guys out there in the middle of nowhere you call Arizona Is either gay or has a untold encounter with RuePaul you’ve told no one about.”
Also let’s see how Willard does this year at Seton Hall. He is coming into a program about the same time Miler came to Arizona last year. The only difference is that Arizona really missed about two years worth of recruiting due to the turmoil of Lute’s leave of absence and then retirement. I am willing to bet that Miller will get Arizona back winning Pac 10 title and making deep runs in the tourney before Willard is able to win at Seton Hall.
/
tsmooth / April 19, 2010
Actually, I live in Memphis, and posted the previous post from my phone. So, by your own logic, you’re just another guy behind a computer, as well.
How many titles does Seton Hall have? How many wins does Seton Hall have? In that sense, the comparison with UCLA is viable. Not hating on Seton Hall; they could be a very good program if they recruited the NY area well, but that hasn’t happened in a while. I think Willard has the chops to get it done, but seeing is believing, you know?
Also, Jersey is nothing to brag about. Just a bunch of wannabe “guidos” who make themselves look like asses. I’ve been there before, and I will never be back.
/
UofA BJ / April 19, 2010
HallBall you are geting smacked around like a little bitch and responses are getting weaker by the second.
And not to mention your program is irrelevent, even in the great state of NJ.LOL
/
HallBall / April 20, 2010
This coming from a little bitch right?
/
HallBall / April 20, 2010
Dont worry about my schooling or degree. To be honest I didnt even read your whole post because talking to you Arizona jackasses Is like the Pope debating with a profound muslim. I could give two shits whether your program wins the Pac-10 or folds because being from the NJ/NY metro area we dont catch bullshit Pac-10 games, not that you were on nationally last year anyway. It kind of Is funny though how I find myself talking about my school when I started the thread talking about why Lamb, McCallum and Selby didnt choose yours. Anything to get off topic right?
/
HallBall / April 20, 2010
Ok, lets see how many titles does Memphis have? How many wins does the program have outside of the the beast that Is the C-USA schedule? Not to mention the vacated final four run the school just had. Not hating on Memphis, I just think you should worry alot less about the Hall and alot more on beating Southern Methodist next year.
Willard will do what he has to do In NY and NJ I trust that, but you are absolutely right seeing Is beleiving Isnt that right Arizona? All Lamb jokes aside now, the UCLA comparison Is outlandish and stupid considering Zona only has one more title than Seton Hall. Being honest thats like making an argument that Holy Cross Is better than Memphis because they have a 1 title difference which would sound dumb as hell.
Lastly, youre from Memphis good. Stay down there, you country bumpkins have a hard time adjusting to actual livelihood outside of your little hick town you call home. With that being said do us In Jersey all a favor and stick to what you know rednecks with shotguns, your country grammar, Vols football and more rednecks.

Hallball, we will stay down here because we just aren’t good enough of people to smell the lovely air in NJ. Wait, what’s that? Oh, it’s not lovely? Well, let’s move to a different subject. You say history doesn’t matter? I guess those big contracts and great recruits those “historical” programs are bringing in just aren’t relevant enough, not to mention the fan bases. But hey, you’re right, history doesn’t matter. So smart with that NJ edumacation. I hear the Maffia is nice this time of year.
/
MemphisMo23 / April 20, 2010
Wait a minute there “gosh” why so hard on Memphis.
I’m not going to bash you program but we have done fairly well in our conference over the last few years, yea we slipped some last season which is understandable considering we only had 7 scholarship players and a few of those wouldnt have scholarships from us under normal circumstances. Our best players went else where after the unexpected coaching change and our new rookie coach had to hold things together with spit and glue. So we actually overachieved. And SMU will get theirs as well as the majority of everyone else we play next season
With the comments you made about my city it is apparent you dont really know much about it. 18th largest city in the country so small hick town we are not. City atmosphere so its not much really country besides the way we talk. Rednecks are few and far between considering our city is a majority of the darker shade “if you know what I mean”. Vols! “Oh No” if they are true Memphis fans then you should actually despise all things Vol related. The Guns and Grammer part were pretty accurate though….

dnoss / April 20, 2010
reading these posts is absolutely sickening. i swear you people get off to telling each other you were wrong as soon as a new article gets posted. and who cares where anybody lives, it has nothing to do with anything. obviously if you are from arizona you will think az is better than jersey and vice versa. it’s the dumbest argument of all time. guess what, i’m from PA, and i’d rather live here than either of those places. it doesn’t mean anything. hallball you need to chill out, as do some of my fellow zona fans i’m sure. you people argue like it’s life and death on here about who said what, but really it’s just an article about high school basketball players. relax. and pac-10 games aren’t nationally televised because they have a deal with FSN not ESPN, it has nothing to do with the pac-10 having “bullshit” games or being a shitty league. i’m from the East Coast as stated above and I watch a ton of pac-10 games, if you were interested in watching them, you can. people out here don’t “catch” the games because they don’t want to. fans of west coast teams are few and far between out here. and as far as selby, lamb, and mccallum…again, who cares if all the zona fans were wrong. everyone knew lamb was a kentucky lean, selby was headed to ku, and mccallum would play for his dad in the end, but are you really gonna hold it against people for holding out hope that their program would land these players. i come on here to read the articles and look for intelligent conversations on these threads and it’s always just total nonsense being spoken and argued about, honestly it’s retarded. that’s my piece.
/
HallBall / April 21, 2010
Ok so lets sum this up you’re from PA and Is a fan of a team over 2,000 miles away and are trying to mediate the situation between this other guy and myself right? I guess there no coincidence the same asshole that kept making the outlandish posts prior to this one just so happens to be from the same school you just so happen to be a fan of. To comment one last time on the Lamb, Selby and McCallum situation, there Is a big difference between confidence and arrogance. For the past months we’ve had so many Zona fans post on damn near every thread why they will land one kid If the other lands at another school and has bad mouthed every other school the kid was considering In the process. So now I guess since the inevitable hasnt happened I guess Im wrong from rubbing some salt Into the open wound? Hell No!
Now onto the Pac-10 TV deal thing, what do you want me to say? If you guys need some national exposure for your leauge the commisioner should be trying to find away to draw more intrest. I mean honestly, besides you being a Zona fan do you actually watch Fox Sports SouthWest? I think I watched one game on that channel before I had It yanked with Fox Pacific and Central because the telecast was so bland that I put me to sleep half way through the first half, not to mention with me being on the Eastcoast the airing of Pac-10 games would conflict with the time that the primetime games on ESPN are shown.
However I do agree with you though, these guys from Arizona do take college ball seriously and sometimes with me not caring we get kind of personal but thats like you say everyones “piece” being said.
/
HallBall / April 21, 2010
Yeah leave the darker shade just as that my friend and nothing else, I thought I was kind of accurate with the grammar and the guns. Lol
/
dnoss / April 21, 2010
i’m not trying to mediate anything i just think 90% of the people that post on here need to relax, the arguments that people get into on here are totally absurd and have absolutely nothing to do with college basketball. and i don’t think the pac-10 needs more exposure, it’s a big 6 conference, everyone knows it’s an elite level of basketball, and the conference as a whole has the most championships in ncaa history. it is as storied a conference (if not more so) than any other conference out there. if kids coming out of high school don’t know that then there’s no way they follow the game as much as they play it. kids that want exposure on national tv can go play somewhere else as far as i’m concerned because those people are typically looking to take off after 1 or 2 years anyway, and those defections are the reason the league is currently so down. personally it doesn’t bother me at all that selby or lamb didn’t come because i’d rather building blocks than throwaway players. players like that do nothing to build a program (which is why i personally don’t see calipari winning a championship at kentucky if he keeps recruiting the way he is) if people want to watch the conference then they can watch. and the telecasts are awful i’ll give you that, but i could care less as long as i get to watch my team play. and i have to disagree about the games conflicting, typically on the east coast the games on the west coast don’t start until 9-10 EST at the earliest, and usually come on around 10, by then the games on espn are coming to a close anyway. i think it’s more so a matter of if you want to stay up late or not. and on top of that pac-10 games play thurs/sat typically and no good games are usually on on thursday nights anyway
