Big East Changes Leave Recruits in Limbo


NEW YORK — Ronald Roberts always dreamed of playing college basketball at Madison Square Garden.

When he signed with St. John’s last November under then-coach Norm Roberts, he thought his dreams would soon come true.

Yet after Norm Roberts was fired last month, new coach Steve Lavin decided that Ronald would not be a good fit for his system. Ronald was released on Monday from his letter of intent.

  • My on thing I hate about the Big East. These kids should be able to sign within the conference In the event of a coaching change, half of these recuits arent only being recruited by one Big East program at a time for example Fuquan Edwin and most recent Cory Joseph. The BE needs to change this because they will definitely find themselves losing quality tri-state talent such as Ron Roberts more frequently.
