NEW YORK — Donnie Walsh is tired of seeing LeBron James’ name in print in connection with the Knicks.
It isn’t that Walsh wouldn’t be interested in landing King James as the ultimate free agent prize after July 1, it’s that he hopes to pursue a variety of free agents with the more than $30 million in cap space he now holds at his disposal.
“We got a lot of room under the cap,” Walsh told reporters before Saturday night’s overtime loss to Oklahoma City. “There’s a 100 different ways you can approach it. You guys have looked at it only for max-out contracts. I haven’t been doing that. I’m not limiting it to one thing.
