Doron Lamb Drops 29 in Oregon

Doron Lamb dropped 29 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals Monday to lead unbeaten Oak Hill (Va.) Academy to an 80-67 victory over Oregon City in the Les Schwab Invitational in Hillsboro, Ore.

In Sunday’s 94-66 win over Sunset, Lamb had 16 points and 3 assists, while teammate Roscoe Smith put up 12 points and 13 boards, according to OregonLive.com.

Both the 6-foot-4 Lamb, a Queens, N.Y. native, and the 6-8 Smith have yet to pick schools.

Lamb is set to visit Arizona Jan. 7-9 and will be followed there by Baltimore (Md.) Lake Clifton guard Josh Selby, who visits the desert Jan. 9-11.

Lamb has visited Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma and UConn and will sign in the spring.

Smith is considering Duke, UConn and Georgetown.

Terrence Jones, another highly regarded uncommitted senior, put up 38 points,12 rebounds and six blocks on Sunday as Portland Jefferson beat Central Catholic, 72-63.

On Monday, Jones had 19 points but his Jefferson team lost to Westview, 70-59.

The 6-8 Jones is considering UCLA, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington and Kentucky.

Oak Hill meets Westview in the semis on Tuesday. The final is set for Wednesday.

The games will be streamed live at OregonLive.com.

  • AZ,

A few days ago, you broke the national news — Knight to Kentucky relationship.

After your breaking news, more and more people confirmed that Kentucky was pushing hard for Knight.
And Knight is Cali number 1 recruiting priority.
Looks like the DEAL is DONE ..with Knight to Kentucky?

Both Josh Selby and D-Lamb are BACK UP plans for Cali.

After the visit to UK- not sure he could still cancell.
Josh S. and/or D-Lamb will visit Arizona and it will an exciting visit for Calvin and Mrs W.

The WEST see Josh S. and D-Lamb as very good fits with BOOK.

  • Jessie, it’s too bad you can’t get Selby & Lamb to suit up right away. That NCAA tourney streak is in definite peril now. Great job pimping guys like Parrom & MoMo–they look like ordinary frershman to me.

  • Momo and Kyryl look like ordinary Freshmen, Parrom missed 6 weeks with a stress fracture. I’ll wait to pass judgement on him until later. Hill shows good court awareness for a freshman and if he ever learns to shoot could be really good. Williams has been great.

The NCAA streak is over unless they pull off a highly unlikely Pac-10 tourney run. I’d love to see Selby or Lamb end up at UA but would be surprised to say the least.

p.s. I read Jessie’s comments for sheer entertainment value only.

  • Hey, I feel for you, palpalife. If Jessie weren’t always on here ripping the Jayhawks with his crap I’d probably tolerate UA a little bit more. What amazes me is that programs like Zona & KU go to the tourney every year so as fans we almost take it for granted that we’ll always be there. I can’t imagine a time when Bill Self won’t have Kansas in the tourney.

Good luck in the PAC10. I’m really impressed with that Cal team. They’ve got some excellent athletes and only really lack an inside presence.

  • I can imagine Self and Kansas not being in the tournament: When they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar my boy. They are cheaters and it is only a matter of time. Remember that you heard it here first and then weep.

Kansas is a cheating school and they are going to get caught – Bank on it.

  • Yeah, we’re cheaters–everybody knows it. davidpeckerk19, if you’ve got the goods on the Jayhawks why don’t you turn them in to the NCAA? Maybe because you’re only talking out of your a$$?

  • pretty bold talk for a UK fan, davidpk. If i were you i would worry about your own program first

  • I like Cal and I think Washington will be the two best teams. I have been absolutely floored by how well USC has played. After watching O’Neal at UA I learned that he can only coach one thing and has a very hard time with adjustments. The joke at UA while he was there was the whole definition of insanity thing, watching him do the same thing over and over expecting a different result. But I guess when you do something over and over and it works then you have a good thing going. Oh well…

  • You’re talking about Kentucky, right? “The point shaving school” LOL>

  • There is much more discussions about “funny stuff” about Kansas from Kentucky??…or is it about Kentucky from Kansas.
(woody and david going at it again.)
Eitherway, Les will get to the bottom of it.

I do like the Arizona freshmen.
Kevin will be a very good player at Arizona.
He has toughness, heart and good BB skills.
MoMo will be another good addition to Point Guard U.

With respect to Josh and D-Lamb, I like BOOKs chances.
Lets see how things fall out.

ps- I hear BK is going to make another speach…

  • Yep, sounds like the genius flipped the U and K. From everything I can tell Self has been a pretty above-the-board coach his whole career. The guy at Kentucky that has vacated 2 final fours, not so much…

  • Jessie, I’d be shocked if you have any chance with Selby. He’s spending Saturday at Rupp watching Louisville vs UK and he’ll be spending Valentine’s Day in Lawrence watching Iowa State vs KU. It really looks like UK vs. KU for his services.
