They both come from the Coney Island section of Brooklyn. They both starred under Dwayne Morton at Lincoln High School. And both became the all-time scoring leaders in New York State history, with Stephenson ultimately breaking Telfair’s record last season.
“He grew up three blocks from me, so I watched him play when he was playing in Pee Wee leagues, so I’ve known him my whole life,” the 6-foot, 175-pound Telfair said last Friday before his Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Stating his favorite class is English and following it up with a double-negative was a funny juxtaposition . One wonders if Stephenson should want to be associated with the last extraordinarily overhyped NYC player, Telfair. I suppose it’s better than asking Lenny Cooke whether Stephenson will be an NBA journeyman.

AZ,
YOU were the first to shed National Light on the link between Knight and UK Calicats.
And everyone understands that UK NUMBER 1 priority is Knight.
We ALL know that Kanas NUMBER 1 priority was Knight and has moved on to COOK.
Josh Selby is the BACK UP plan for Cali, UK, and Kansas.
Doron Lamb is the BACK UP plan for Cali, UK , and Kansas.
Both school pushed HARD and OFTEN ..for Knight.
And UK is in the LEAD for Knight.
UK back up plans are ALL well understood by ALL.
Kansas back up plans are ALL well understood by ALL.

Jessie, nice backup plan by your UA Mildcats in defeating Lipscomb by one the other night. Solid win that will help get you into the NIT I’m sure.
Why do you always crack on KU when it comes to recruiting? Is it jealousy? I’m not sure why Josh Selby and Doron Lamb are considered “BACK UP” plans for UK or KU? I’m not going to speak for UK, but I’m pretty sure that Bill Self would take either kid right now. Are you trying to insinuate that he has told both kids that he’s waiting for a decision from Knight first? I remember a few years ago when the #1 target at PG was Ty Lawson (Roy obviously got him) and Self landed the #2 target in Sherron Collins–it worked out pretty well for both schools.
FYI I saw the best that the PAC10 has to offer this year in person last night at Allen Fieldhouse. I see why California is the favorite to win your conference this year. Their kids have incredible speed and a few of them can really stroke it from the outside. Unfortunately, their lack of any significant inside game will really hurt their chances of going deep

*Holds RockChalkWoody back* Remember, it’s Christmas time. Even haters need love when they can’t find it at home. Let’s all wish JessieMildcat a Merry Desert Christmas devoid of water. They gather around cactus trees out there after all.
