Josh Selby, the No. 2 point guard in the Class of 2010, will visit Arizona Jan. 9-10, according to sources.
Selby’s mother, Maeshon Witherspoon, told Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star that the date is not yet confirmed because she must check with his coaches.
“There has been talk about possibly setting a date, but I don’t know where that’s going to go, because they had a lot of time invested in Ray McCallum,” Witherspoon told Pascoe. “Arizona is no different than other schools right now calling to get in on Josh. … Josh is open to everybody.”
Selby decommitted from Tennessee last summer and recently cut his list to Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse and Indiana.
“It’s style of play, coaching, looking for a family with in the coaching staff, chemistry and can they win?” Witherspoon said. “Josh is a real big family guy.”
Arizona assistant Book Richardson went to watch him play for Baltimore (Md.) Lake Clifton last weekend and now Selby will visit the school next month.
“Josh has everything you look for in an elite talent,” Jerry Meyer of Rivals.com told the Baltimore Sun. “It’s really a combination of three things: athleticism, high skills and competitiveness. He has all those characteristics. There’s no telling how good he can be. He has a chance to be a one-and-done college player, an All-American type who can be a longtime pro that goes on to play in [ NBA] All-Star games.”
Arizona will also get a visit that weekend from Oak Hill (Va.) Academy combo guard Doron Lamb. The Wildcats face Washington State Jan. 8 and Washington Jan. 10
Lamb is considering Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma and UConn. West Virginia has also recently gotten involved and head coach Bob Huggins is due to visit this week.
Witherspoon told Pascoe her son would not mind playing with Lamb.
“Josh is not afraid to play against or with anybody.” Witherspoon said. “They respect each other’s game… Doron would be a complementary. They both can play with the ball and both can play off the ball. When you have two people who respect each other’s games, who knows?”

Good stuff AZ.
Arizona looks forward to the visits from Josh S. and D-Lamb.
It will be a great weekend for both recruits.
Both players look like a great fit at Arizona.
Let Book do his thing.
Note:
any news on Terrence Jone?. It has been silent in the NW.

Arizona looked pretty impressive yesterday against OU. If you claim that selby and lamb are a great fit you must mean they can’t shoot or play any defense. Arizona got outclassed by a mediocre OU team. I am loving this Big 12/Pac 10 challenge.
KU gets either Lamb or Selby. The only problem is there is a good chance KU won’t be able to offer these kids many minutes as they are stacked at every position, Also, Self is not like Calipari and guarantee minutes to a freshman.
Have fun at the NIT Arizona!! Hell, you may not even be good enough for that,
hahahahahah!!!!!! sucks to be you!

You must have selective viewing…must be part of the midwest thing or…that Kansas Gangster U mentality…?
The double over time loss to Vegas was a good game.
And Vegas is ranked and a much better team than OU.
The season is far from over and the PAC10 race will have Arizona in the hunt.,
The PAC10 gets three teams in and maybe four.
So, it is far from over, with respect to Arizona.
The fun is just begiinnig at Arizona.
A number of people will be surprise with D-Lamb and Josh S. going to Kansas Gangster U. Very surprised.
I’m just saying.

Jessie, just because you don’t want either Lamb or Selby to end up at KU doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. Your obsession with the Jayhawks is a little scary.
The PAC10 is really weak this year. Look for three teams to get in (and Arizona will not be one of them).
Oh, and Vegas is not a “much better team” than OU.
You should go back to that UCLA Rivals site & continue starting threads that only you reply to. I’ve never seen somebody so starved for attention that they have to reply to their own posts. Dude, you’re weird.

What is crazy is that I have noticed since I’ve starting watching KU games I have started beating white women and constantly smoking the chronic.
It may be time to drop the Gangster U thing as you have dropped it at least 50 times on this site. I guess originality is not your strength.
I would honestly rather watch the WNBA than Pac-10 ball this year. At least they know how to score the ball and I think one or two of them can dunk.

What do you think your degree is worth from Gangsta U? It is not worth the toilet paper it is written on fmizzou31. Go to a real academic school where they do not recruit gangsters to play and represent the university. I pity those who attend KU because the job market is not too good for you guys when the market is competitive. But again, there is always a McDonalds, Burger King close by.

Be-littling ‘schools’ is lame, individuals…no big deal. All I know is that Self and company can’t watch there players 24/7 but they can teach them how to act on and off the court ( which they haven’t done). Arizona is young but talented and more muture then many freshmen across the board. Will Arizona make the tourney this year? Prob not unless we finish 1 or 2 in the Pac-10. Does it matter to the 2010 kids coming? Not too much I’m guessing. Will they make the tourney with Selby, Bejarano , and possibly Lamb on board as freshmen? Absolutely.
