Monday’s tilt between Rutgers and Cincinnati is officially a sell-out.
The newly-expanded stadium has a capacity of 52,454 and will hold the largest crowd in school history for the Labor Day Big East matchup between the Scarlet Knights and Bearcats on ESPN.
“I want to thank our fans, students and the entire metropolitan area,” said Rutgers AD Tim Pernetti. “It will be a special day at Rutgers Stadium.”
Student tickets for the game sold-out in less than 24 hours.
The Rutgers Stadium expansion featured the opening of approximately 1,000 club seats in 2008 and the south end zone addition of over 11,000 seats for this season. A new, state-of-the-art HD scoreboard and new sound system also highlight the renovations at Rutgers Stadium.
The HD scoreboard – one of the largest in the nation at an on-campus venue – is 114 feet wide and 38 feet high.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
