Kyrie Irving and Tobias Harris, the two top-rated seniors in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, will both wait until the end of August to cut their college lists.

“End of August,” Torrel Harris, Tobias’ dad, wrote in a text.

Torrel added that the family was having a difficult time cutting down the list of more than a dozen schools and that new schools were still trying to get involved.

Arizona, Kentucky, Providence, St. John's, Virginia Tech

Sidiki Johnson, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound rising junior forward from St. Raymond’s High School in The Bronx, gave a verbal commitment to Arizona on Saturday after first reaching out to the coaching staff Thursday.

“I committed Saturday,” said Johnson, who lives in Harlem and is ranked No. 56 by Rivals in the Class of 2011. “I like everything [about the school]. I feel comfortable there. I got a great relationship with Coach Sean Miller. I just like everything about the school.”

Johnson visited Arizona in June unofficially and ended up choosing the Wildcats over Kentucky, Providence, Virginia Tech, St. John’s and others.

Kentucky coach John Calipari attended the Summer in the City event at St. John’s on Friday in part to watch Johnson play.

“My mom liked [Arizona],” he said. “Everyone in my family liked it.”

NEW YORK — With nearly every major program in the Northeast already on Devon Collier’s list, it comes as no surprise that Arizona is now making a push for the versatile left-handed senior forward from Jersey City (N.J.) St. Anthony.

Arizona, via assistant Emanuel “Book” Richardson, recently  reached out to the 6-foot-8, 205-pound Collier.

“Arizona just gave me a call saying that they’re interested in me,” said Collier, who scored 10 points to help his New Heights AAU team beat RISE 58-52 to win the “Summer in the City” 17U event at St. John’s. “[Richardson] just said that he’s interested in me, that he’s been recruiting me since he was at Xavier. He likes my style of play, he’s going to see if I’m interested in Arizona.”
