Rosario, Puerto Rico Fall Again

For the second straight game, Mike Rosario and his Puerto Rico teammates lost by one point Friday night in the World Juniors Basketball Tournament in Douai, France.

Rosario, a 6-3 shooting guard out of Rutgers, scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds and Jio Fontan added 18 points, but Puerto Rico lost to Canada 77-76.

Rosario was 5-of-19 from the field and 1-of-7 from beyond the arc.

Puerto Rico (1-2) was coming off a one-point loss to France the night before.

Puerto Rico is prepping for the FIBA U19 World Championships in New Zealand July 2-12.

Fontan and Rosario teamed at St. Anthony of Jersey City to win the New Jersey Tournament of Champions and a mythical national championship in 2008.
