John Wall is back from his official visit to Miami and plans to cut his list later this week.

“I’m going to go home and talk about my decision,” Wall said Sunday night by phone. He added that he would cut his list to “probably two or three this Thursday or Friday.”

Wall, the 6-foot-4 point guard out of Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God, has listed Baylor, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, N.C. State, Miami, Memphis and Florida.

Kentucky desperately needs a point guard and is recruiting both Wall and Eric Bledsoe. Asked if John Calipari’s club would definitely make the cut, Wall said, “I don’t know right now. I don’t know yet. It depends. I’m looking at lots of stuff.”

Could Lance Stephenson be headed to the PAC-10 Conference?

A new school has become involved in the Stephenson Sweepstakes and things are starting to heat up.

“Arizona has expressed interest in Lance Stephenson,” a source with direct knowledge said. No campus visit has been set, however.

Sources say Stephenson is not completely happy with his current choices — he has taken official visits to St. John’s, Maryland and Kansas — and is open to other options.

Arizona recently hired former Xavier coach Sean Miller and assistant Book Richardson.

Richardson, a New York City native, is already involved with New York wing Kevin Parrom, who is slated to visit Arizona next weekend.

Richardson also has a relationship with Stephenson, the 6-foot-5 McDonald’s All-American out of Brooklyn’s Lincoln High School.

My wife and I and some friends went to The Dead show Saturday night at MSG…The place was packed and the guys sounded great. Would it have been better with Jerry Garcia singing St. Stephen? Sure, but Jerry’s gone and he ain’t comin’ back.

Phil Lesh, Bobby Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Warren Haynes (who doubles with The Allman Brothers Band) sounded terrific…Here’s the setlist below. “Ship of Fools,” “Sugaree,” “St. Stephen,” “Gimme Shelter” and “Brokedown Palace” were among my favs.

Kevin Parrom has set his list of visits and he will be busy the next several weekends.

“I am at [the] airport on my way to Pitt,” Parrom wrote Sunday morning in a text. “Next weekend I go to Arizona. And the weekend after that I go to Va. Tech.”

He will also take unofficial visits from his South Kent (Conn.) school to Providence and Rhode Island later this week.

“Sometime this week, most likely on Thursday,” he wrote.

A 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward ranked No. 25 at his position in the Class of 2009, Parrom recently got his release from Xavier.

The Garden State is in the house.

Radio City Music Hall, that is.

New Jersey guys made up seven of the 32 first-round picks in Saturday’s NFL Draft.

OT Eugene Monroe of Virginia went at No. 8 to Jacksonville; DT B.J. Raji of Boston College was picked No. 9 by Green Bay; RB Knowshon Moreno of Georgia went No. 12 to Denver; CB Malcolm Jenkins of Ohio State went No. 14 to New Orleans; and LB Brian Cushing of Southern Cal was selected No. 15 by Houston.

Later, RB Donald Brown of UConn went No. 27 to New Orleans and WR Kenny Britt of Rutgers was chosen at No. 30 by Tennessee.

“It’s good to have a New Jersey crew out there in the draft,” Moreno said the other day. “Coaches need to start recruiting up here in New Jersey a little more.”
